In a statment sent to UMD Media, the Coalition of Tigray Diaspora Associations express their concern about what they called Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa (SEHOA), Mike Hammer’s lack of attention to crucial elements of the Pretoria Cessation of Hostilities Agreement between the Government of Ethiopia and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF). Specifically, they express concern about the restoration of Tigray’s constitutional territories, the right to self-determination, and the ongoing atrocities and ethnic cleansing in Tigray. They urge the US government to uphold its previous advocacy for the full implementation of the agreement and to ensure accountability for crimes committed. Additionally, they emphasize the need to address the withdrawal of non-ENDF forces and the concurrent DDR process. Finally, they call for continued support for the victims of the Tigray war.
